Tag customers who have subscribed to email marketing

When sending out promotional marketing content, it is important for legal and privacy reasons to make sure you are sending it only to customers who have agreed to receive marketing content from you.

Customers who have subscribed to email marketing will have the "Email Marketing" status set to "Subscribed" on the Shopify customer profile page as shown below


How to tag customers based on the Email Marketing field?

You can use the Auto tags app to automatically tag customers based on the "Email Marketing" field. 

The easiest way to configure it is to visit the Workflow Library and search for "Tag customers who have subscribed to email marketing". You can import the appropriate workflow into your account and modify it according to your needs and test the workflow to make sure everything is working as expected. 

You can also run a backdating task to tag existing customers who have subscribed to email marketing.
